Actress Rosario Dawson, who has been dating New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker since December, is hitting the campaign trail in Nevada. Her Fourth of July appearance will mark her first on the stump since Booker announced his candidacy for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Dawson, 40, received some criticism for not appearing at last Thursday’s debate in Miami, which many considered to be the most important moment of Booker’s campaign so far. The actress, best known for appearing in the cinematic version of Broadway hit Rent and the Netflix superhero drama Luke Cage, has reportedly been busy filming a USA Network show, Briarpatch, in New Mexico.
Booker’s scheduled campaign events in Nevada today include a stop at the Independence Day celebration at the 71st annual Boulder City Damboree. This is the senator’s fourth visit to Nevada since he entered the race in February.
