Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady said he believes he can keep playing in the NFL until he is 50.
He talked about his future in a video conversation with tight end Rob Gronkowski, answering questions fans Google most often.
“Can Tom Brady play ’til 50? Like, 50 years old? Fifty. I don’t find it so difficult,” Brady said. “Plus, in Florida, it’s kind of a retiree state, so I feel like I can play and then just glide into retirement. I think I can. I think it’s a yes.”

Brady, 44, once said he would play until he was 45 if an injury did not knock him out of play. But he’s still going strong into the new season that began this past weekend.

The Buccaneers defeated the Dallas Cowboys with a score of 31-29 in their first game of the regular season. The team will play the Atlanta Falcons next on Sunday.
Brady recently led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the team’s second Superbowl victory last season earlier this year.

When Brady joined Tampa Bay, he had already won six Superbowls with the New England Patriots. Bringing Tampa Bay to the Superbowl secured Brady’s seventh title. During his career, he has also received five Most Valuable Player titles, including 2021’s Superbowl.
If Brady does continue to play until 50, he would surpass the current record of 48 years old held by George Blanda, who served as the quarterback of the Raiders at the time of his retirement in 1975.
