President Trump said he hasn’t had much time to consider the allegations against Republican Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore pursued sexual relationships with teenagers while in his 30’s.
“I’m dealing with the president of China, the president of Russia. I’m dealing with the folks over here,” Trump told reporters Saturday on Air Force One after attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting in Vietnam. “So, I haven’t devoted – I haven’t been able to devote very much time to it.”
The allegations against the Republican former judge came as Trump began his nearly two-week journey across Asia.
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders told reporters Friday that “mere allegation” alone should not be enough to destroy a man’s life.
Trump reiterated that stance on Saturday, saying that was he had issued a statement and believes Moore would do “the right thing.”
Moore denies any wrongdoing.
