Danville Public Safety Director Larry Thomason says Michael Rouse of Ridge Farm was arrested Saturday night. Rouse surrendered to police after they surrounded a home where had run.
According to court records, Rouse was arrested on a warrant charging him with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery of a peace officer with a firearm and other charges. He has not yet entered a plea and is being held on $5 million bond.
Thomason declined to identify the officer but said he was released from an Urbana hospital.
