Driver identified in fatal home invasion, shooting

Authorities have identified the third suspect in a botched home invasion-robbery that led to the shooting death of a man in Sterling last week.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said 28-year-old Anthony D. Miles was fatally shot after he and two other men broke into a home on the 1200 block of East Kennedy Drive. Someone inside the home shot and Miles to death and wounded another suspect, the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities said a third man drove the wounded suspect to a hospital, then fled the area. That driver has been identified as 27-year-old Samuel T. Eaton, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday.

Police believe Eaton has left the area and is traveling to North Carolina. He is driving a dark gray 2004 Hyundai with the Virginia registration XFH 2671. Investigators believe he is traveling with a 27-year-old woman and a 6-year-old boy.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 703-777-0445.
