Prince William County is celebrating its designation as a youth-friendly area with a shindig Thursday night — and you’re invited.
America’s Promise Alliance named the county one of the “100 Best Communities for Young People,” awarded for “taking bold and effective steps to help their youth graduate and lead healthy, productive lives,” said Alma J. Powell, chairwoman of America’s Promise Alliance.
Clarice Torian, co-chairwoman of county’s Healthy Communities Healthy Youth Coalition and director of Student Services for the public school system, said Prince William “has many youth-serving agencies focused on providing resources to youth that help to promote their physical, social, educational, and spiritual growth.”
The celebration will be held 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Edward L. Kelly Leadership Center in Manassas.
