Why spend Valentine’s Day alone when there’s a dog or cat who could use your loving? On Monday and Tuesday, The Washington Humane Society is reducing pet adoption fees — usually $170 for dogs and $85 for cats — to $14 in honor of the holiday. All adopters receive a free bag of food for their pet, an exam with a veterinarian, a goodie bag, and 30 fee days of health insurance from ShelterCare. All the animals are already spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and de-wormed. The adoption centers at 7319 Georgia Avenue Northwest and 1201 New York Avenue Northeast will be decorated to the theme “Looking for Love in All the Right Places.”
