Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders’ lead on Donald Trump in a hypothetical general election matchup dwarfs Hillary Clinton’s advantage over the billionaire, according to a new NBC News/SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking poll.
The online poll shows Sanders up 13 percentage points on Trump, 53-40, while Clinton leads Trump by 5 points, 49-44. Sanders’ lead is bolstered by young Republicans, as the poll shows 30 percent of Republicans under 30 years old would vote for Sanders over Trump.
