LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say two Los Angeles Unified School District police officers have been seriously injured in a collision involving their patrol car and a dump truck in Sun Valley.
The city Fire Department says paramedics responded to the crash scene on Arleta Avenue shortly after 8:15 a.m. Friday.
City News Service says the officers were hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
The truck driver received minor injuries.
Los Angeles police Officer Doug Larkin tells KABC-TV it appears the patrol car struck the rear end of the truck as the truck was making a right turn.
However, the exact cause of the crash is under investigation.
