A federal agent from Arlington who was in Hawaii to provide security for an economic summit has been charged with murder.
Police say 27-year-old Christopher Deedy shot and killed a 23-year-old man during a fight at a Waikiki McDonald’s, according to KHON 2, the local Fox affiliate.
Deedy worked for the State Department’s Bureau of Diplomatic Security and was working at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, a gathering of leaders from 21 countries, the Honolulu Star Advertiser reported.
The slaying occurred at about 2:45 a.m. Sunday.
Deedy, who is charged with second-degree murder, was released from custody after posting $250,000 bail on Monday.
