Celebrate Shakespeare on Sunday at the Folger

Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears:

The Folger Shakespeare Library will celebrate the author’s birthday on Sunday with jugglers, jesters and birthday cake for all. The free public event runs noon to 4 p.m., rain or shine. It’s the only day all of the reading rooms are open to the public, and docent tours will be given.

Additionally there will be sonnet and Shakespeare portrait contests, stage performances, Renaissance music and dance, crafts, a scavenger hunt, an appearance by Queen Elizabeth I and a plant sale. It’s really the place To Be.

Also Sunday, the Folger will debit it’s King James Bible traveling exhibit.

The Folger is located at 201 East Capitol Street, SE. For more information, go to www.folger.edu.
