Callista Gingrich, wife of former Speaker Newt Gingrich, may be in line to become the next ambassador to the Vatican, the New York Times reported Thursday.
According to the report, Newt Gingrich confirmed his wife was being considered but divulge any other details.
The Gingriches have been friends with Trump for years and Newt Gingrich consulted Trump during the presidential campaign. He took himself out of being considered for a Cabinet post in favor of being more of a big picture consultant.
The Times reported a friend of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, William Simon, Jr., is also being considered.
