Prince George’s County officials opened the emergency operations center Thursday morning as motorists struggle to find routes around flooded roads.
The Department of Public Works and Transportation reported closures on the following 14 county roads:
- Sunnyside Avenue (at Edmonston Road), Beltsville
- Glenn Dale Road, Glenn Dale
- Old Baltimore Avenue (at Edmonston Road), Beltsville
- Croom Station Road, Upper Marlboro,
- Governor Bridge Road, Bowie,
- Brock Bridge Road, Laurel
- Contee Road (at Mayfair Drive), Laurel
- Van Dusen Road (at Old Gunpowder Road), Laurel
- South Springfield Road (at Accokeek Road), Clinton
- Brandywine Road, Brandywine
- Floral Park Road (at Windbrook Drive), Clinton
- Judges Drive, Upper Marlboro
- Governor Oden Bowie Drive, Upper Marlboro
- Brown Station Road (at Brooke Lane), Upper Marlboro
High water warning signs have also been placed on other roads throughout the county.
The County Administration Building and County Courthouse in Upper Marlboro have also been shut down for the day. All other aspects of the Prince George’s County government remain open.
