Kanye West’s bid to become president of the United States is rolling on after his campaign team submitted petition signatures to appear on the Iowa presidential ballot in November.
Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate confirmed that West’s campaign team submitted the required petitions on Friday morning and that his office would be scrutinizing the signatures to make sure they qualify.
“I can confirm that representatives from the Kanye West presidential campaign just delivered nominating petitions to our office,” Pate tweeted. “We will review the petitions to ensure they meet the minimum requirements.”

West has already qualified to appear on the ballots of Colorado, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, and petitions filed in Wisconsin, Ohio, and West Virginia are still under review.
West recently withdrew his name from consideration to appear on the New Jersey ballot after a former Democratic congressional candidate questioned the validity of dozens of signatures that appeared to have similar pen strokes.
