SEAL who shot bin Laden says James Comey is ‘human shit’

Former Navy SEAL Robert O’Neill bashed former FBI Director James Comey after the release of the Department of Justice inspector general’s report on alleged Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuses by FBI officials during President Trump’s 2016 campaign.

Inspector General Michael Horowitz released his report on Dec. 9, following his two-year investigation into the FBI’s and the DOJ’s use of FISA warrants to surveil Trump’s campaign for evidence of election interference collusion with Russian agents. The report outlined 17 “significant errors or omissions” by FBI officials in the FISA applications to surveil Trump campaign adviser Carter Page but determined political bias played no role in the opening of the Russia investigation.

O’Neill, 43, slammed the 59-year-old former FBI chief on Twitter on Monday.

“I fought for everything I believed in so I will say this now: James Comey is human shit,” said O’Neill, who claims to have killed al Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden during the U.S. raid on bin Laden’s compound in May 2011.

Comey appeared on Fox News Sunday with host Chris Wallace to defend himself and walk back statements he made in defense of the FBI prior to the release of Horowitz’s report. Last year, Comey had consistently defended the FBI’s FISA process during the Trump campaign, much of which took place under Comey’s control, as appropriate. However, he admitted to Wallace that he was “wrong.”

“He’s [Horowitz] right; I was wrong. I was overconfident in the procedures that the FBI and Justice had built over 20 years,” Comey admitted after Wallace pressed him. “There was real sloppiness. Seventeen things that either should have been in the applications or at least discussed and characterized differently. It was not acceptable, so he’s right; I was wrong.”
