WATCH: Kellyanne Conway predicts Trump will announce 2024 presidential bid ‘soon’

Senior counsel to former President Donald Trump, Kellyanne Conway, predicted that her former boss will announce a presidential bid for 2024 sooner rather than later.

“I think you can expect him to announce soon,” she told attendees at a Thursday event by the Christian Science Monitor.

The first woman to successfully manage a winning presidential campaign added that she gives Trump “a ton of credit” for not announcing yet and “for not stepping in the way of the midterm candidates.”

According to Conway, she and Trump speak “often” and advised him not to announce a 2024 campaign prior to the midterm elections. She further claimed he will come out a “big winner” in the midterm elections, with many endorsed candidates winning their respective races.

She explained that the former president will have no difficulty moving into a 2024 campaign cycle because he never really stopped campaigning after leaving office.

Trump has consistently polled well among Republicans in a potential 2024 GOP primary. The only potential contender who approaches his lead is Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), whose 2024 run is being heavily speculated.

During his recent gubernatorial debate against Charlie Crist, he didn’t explicitly answer whether he is eyeing the presidency in 2024. “I know Charlie is interested in talking about 2024 and Joe Biden, but I just want to make things very, very clear,” DeSantis responded when Crist pressed him on his ambitions. “The only worn-out old donkey I’m looking to put out to pasture is Charlie Crist.”

“If I’m Ron DeSantis, I’m sure I can think about running — but why not go be the best two-term governor of the third-largest state in modern history, if not ever, and then walk into the presidency in 2028?” Conway said of the popular Republican governor.
