Today is the 1-year anniversary of the Brussels attack that killed 32, including four Americans

Wednesday’s apparent terror attack in London occurred on the one-year anniversary of the 2016 Brussels bombings.

The suicide bombings at Brussels Airport in Zaventem and Maalbeek metro station left 32 people dead and more than 300 people injured on March 22, 2016.

The three bombers, who all died in the attack, were linked with the November 2015 terrorist attack in Paris that has left France in a constant state of heightened alert.

Four Americans died: Sascha and Alexander Pinczowski, and Justin and Stephanie Shults. The Pinczowskis, siblings, and the Shults, a married couple, were killed during the attack at the airport.

The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attacks.

In London Wednesday afternoon, at least one woman was dead and “catastrophic” injuries reported after shots were fired near Parliament and a car rammed multiple people on the Westminster Bridge.
