White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said Tuesday that the news media are causing division in the U.S. by publicizing a new tell-all book by Omarosa Manigault Newman, the former White House aide who has said repeatedly that President Trump is a racist.
During the press briefing Tuesday, Sanders fielded several questions related to Manigault Newman’s new book and claims she has made in media interviews, including that she knows an audio recording exists of Trump using the N-word.

“Frankly, if we want to look at who’s creating divisions in the country, I think the media has done more to divide this country, certainly far more than this president ever has, by elevating people like the author of this book,” Sanders said.
She said Trump is working for “all Americans,” though she admitted she couldn’t “guarantee anything” when asked if she could say with certainty that Trump will never be heard on a tape using the racial slur.
