Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign manager Robby Mook complained Wednesday that his candidate was hurt by the media’s drive to write about stolen Democratic emails, and lack of interest in reporting that those emails were stolen by Russia.
Mook subtweeted Jeh Johnson, the former secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, when the Obama-era official said the press spent too much time covering the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape that contained President Trump making lewd comments about women.
“I’d say the bigger problem was the breathless coverage of John Podesta’s emails, but not that Russia had stolen them,” Mook replied, referencing the emails stolen from Clinton’s former campaign chairman.

Hackers took thousands of emails in early- to mid-2016 from Democratic National Committee officials and Clinton’s campaign staff.
The messages revealed Clinton and the DNC were working to block Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., from winning the political party’s nomination.
