‘They’re gonna blame black people for this’: Video shows black woman confronting white protesters defacing Los Angeles business

Video taken during protests in Los Angeles Saturday shows a black woman confronting white rioters seconds after they spray-painted a Starbucks.

“Y’all doing that for us, and we didn’t ask y’all to do that,” the woman is heard on the video telling a masked white rioter. “Listen, don’t spray stuff out here when they’re gonna blame black people for this, and black people didn’t do it.”

She continues in the video, “If we would have wanted you to do it, we would have asked. They gonna blame that on us. Y’all are a part of the problem!”

Authorities in several states and cities have said they suspect members of loose, militant, anti-government groups infiltrated otherwise peaceful demonstrations put on by protesters furious with the police killing of George Floyd.

Since Floyd’s death on Monday, demonstrations have popped up in dozens of cities across the country. As the protests have raged, images and videos show people looting, defacing property, and burning cars and buildings.

Several cities have instituted daily curfews to help separate legitimate peaceful protesters from violent criminals looking to destroy properties.

On Sunday, Attorney General William Barr said, “Antifa and other similar groups” that are responsible for rioting amid the protests will be treated as domestic terrorists.

“With the rioting that is occurring in many of our cities around the country, the voices of peaceful and legitimate protests have been hijacked by violent radical elements,” Barr said. “Groups of outside radicals and agitators are exploiting the situation to pursue their own separate, violent, and extremist agenda.”

More demonstrations are expected in major cities across the country Sunday evening.
