Ric Ocasek, best know as the frontman for rock band The Cars, has been found dead in a Manhattan apartment by authorities.
According to the Associated Press, New York City police officers responding to a 911 call found Ocasek, 75, in the home around 4 p.m. on Sunday. Police say there was no sign of foul play, but the medical examiner still needs to determine an official cause of death.
The Cars topped the music charts in the late 1970s and 1980s with hits including Just What I Needed, Shake It Up and Drive. Last year, the band was honored by being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Ocasek was married to model and actress Paulina Porizkova, whom he first met while filming the music video for Drive. However, the pair announced their separation after 28 years of marriage in May of 2018.
