NEW YORK (AP) — Prosecutors say four defendants have pleaded guilty for their roles in a 2009 Bronx shooting that critically wounded a 15-year-old high school student.

Bronx District Attorney Robert Johnson said Thursday that the four are the last of 38 alleged gang members indicted on conspiracy and other charges in connection with the shooting.

Johnson says Carvette Gentles, Rohan Francis and Clive Smith pleaded guilty to assault. Darrell Joe pleaded guilty to conspiracy. They all face up to a decade or more in prison when they’re sentenced on Sept. 4.

Prosecutors have said Vada Vazquez was unintentionally shot in the head during a gang-related hit.

The victim is now 19 and is studying criminal justice in college. She’s still undergoing medical treatment.

The four pleaded guilty on Tuesday.
