RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Three Chamber of Commerce offices and a state government office have been recognized for their efforts to restock Virginia’s food banks.

Gov. Bob McDonnell on Monday announced the winners of the Governor’s Bowl challenge, which was aimed at helping shore up food bank donations that are typically lost during the summer.

More than 212 Chamber of Commerce locations and government agencies participated in the five-week food drive. Every dollar donated was the equivalent of 4 pounds, and awards were based on the number of pounds donated.

The winners are the Buchanan County Chamber of Commerce in the small division, the Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce in the medium division, and the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce in the large division. Also singled out was the Virginia Board of Accountancy.
