Sacha Baron Cohen pranks Roy Moore with fake pedophile detecting machine

Failed Republican Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore is the latest politician to fall victim to Sacha Baron Cohen.

On Sunday’s episode of Cohen’s “Who is America” series on Showtime, Cohen posed as anti-terror expert Erran Morad, demonstrating a fake gadget that he said would be able to help detect sex offenders.

Moore lost in December against Democrat Doug Jones after he was accused by multiple women of pursuing sexual relationships with them decades ago when they were underage.

“It turns out that sex offenders and particularly pedophiles secrete an enzyme for DDHT, which is actually detectable. It is three times the level of non-perverts, so the phrase ‘sweating like a rapist’ is actually based on science,” Cohen tells Moore.

Cohen took out the gadget and waved it over his torso to demonstrate. When he waved it over Moore, the machine started to beep.

“It must be faulty,” Cohen said, before trying the gadget out on another man on set. The gadget did not beep when Cohen waved it over the other man.

When asked if he was wearing someone else’s jacket, Moore said he’s “been married for 33 [years] and never had an accusation of such things … Certainly I’m not a pedophile.”

Moore then ended the interview.

The former candidate threatened to sue weeks ago if Showtime aired the segment.
