Amway Hotel Corp. president set to retire

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — A man who has called the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel home for the past 25 years says he’s set to retire and rejoin his family.

As president of the Amway Hotel Corp., Joe Tomaselli has become emblematic of Grand Rapids’ hospitality. But the St. Louis resident and “die-hard Cardinals fan” says it’s time to return home and spend time with his wife, Patty, of 42 years and their grandchildren.

Tomaselli tells MLive.com (http://bit.ly/Tt6Eg2 ) he plans to retire after Dec. 31 but expects to long for the west Michigan community that adopted him.

He says the last 25 years have been the “greatest that any hotel man could have ever imagined and are much more than any hotel man could have realized.”
