ASHLAND, Neb. (AP) — The Strategic Air & Space Museum near Ashland in eastern Nebraska is taking learning experiences to students across the state this summer.
Those experiences include a balloon 20 feet in diameter that allows students to view the Earth in its entirety from the inside out, a mobile science outreach laboratory, a traveling planetarium, solar telescopes, a multi-axis trainer and an inflatable space shuttle bouncer 46 feet long.
The museum’s summer outreach program began this week in Kearney, where students launched a camera-outfitted altitude balloon.
Last summer, the museum provided educational programs to 13,000 students and teachers from 53 Nebraska counties.
