The suspect in the deadly ambush on law enforcement officers during a Thursday night protest in Dallas has been identified.
According to several reports, Micah Xavier Johnson, 25, was the shooter.
He died after police used a robot to detonate a bomb nearby him. He told police during an armed standoff that he wanted to “kill white people” and was acting “alone.”
Three other people are being held by authorities, but it is unclear how they are involved in the attack.
The Thursday night shooting left five police officers dead and seven others wounded. Two civilians were also wounded in the attack during an otherwise peaceful protest against police brutality.
