The social media platform Twitch temporarily banned President Trump’s account.

A spokesperson for Twitch told the Hill on Monday that the temporary ban was implemented over the promotion of “hateful conduct.” The person said that two posts, in particular, are what led to the ban, including a rebroadcast of a 2015 speech in which Trump referred to Mexicans as “rapists” and a clip from his rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, slightly more than a week ago.

“Hateful conduct is not allowed on Twitch,” the Twitch spokesperson said. “In line with our policies, President Trump’s channel has been issued a temporary suspension from Twitch for comments made on stream, and the offending content has been removed.”

The spokesperson stated that “politicians on Twitch must adhere to our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines” and explained that the company made this clear to the president’s team when he joined the platform.

The White House has ramped up its outcry against social media censorship in recent weeks.

Trump signed an executive order last month to combat what he sees as unfair censorship of conservative voices on such platforms. The directive is designed to have the Federal Communications Commission review social media companies and the protections they are granted under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which allows those companies to be considered platforms, rather than publishers, to protect them from liability.

Twitter has hidden some of the president’s tweets or labeled some of them as misleading or glorifying violence. Contrarily, Facebook has been more hesitant to label the president’s posts on the platform and has since been on the bad end of an ad boycott over the policy decision.

Most recently, Reddit banned one of the most popular pro-Trump subreddits, “The_Donald,” on Monday.
