Meghan McCain called the Clinton family “a virus” in response to Hillary Clinton’s latest criticism of President Trump.
Over the weekend, Clinton argued that Trump’s campaign “was looking backwards” and racism and sexism played a role in voters picking Trump over her.
During her three-day trip to India, Clinton made headlines for saying she lost the 2016 presidential election in part because white women were pressured by their husbands to vote for Trump.
“Honestly, I have to tell you. It’s one thing to lose to President Obama. It’s an entirely other thing to pull off losing to President Trump. And you gotta come up with a better excuse than this,” Meghan McCain responded Tuesday on “The View.”
McCain said Clinton may want to think about the message she’s spreading as the midterm elections approach.
“If your messaging is that you want to go back in time, that women can’t think for themselves, that our husbands, bosses, and sons tell us what to do, that’s quite the message going forward into midterms and [the] general election,” she said.
“The Clintons are a virus in the Democratic Party. You have to move on,” McCain added.
