ENDANGERED HISTORIC PLACES
WASHINGTON — Hundreds of historic U.S. post offices nationwide face uncertain futures as the U.S. Postal Service downsizes, so preservationists added these American institutions to the list of the country’s most endangered historic places. Post offices will join the list of America’s 11 Most Endangered Historic Places as a group for the first time. The National Trust for Historic Preservation is citing the bureaucratic process for disposing of thousands of post offices, saying developers and community groups interested in rehabilitating the historic buildings end up walking away when they don’t get timely or clear answers from the Postal Service. FIVE WIVES VODKA BANNED
WASHINGTON— A Washington law professor is threatening a lawsuit over Idaho’s decision to ban a brand of vodka that makes a cheeky reference to polygamy. In a letter published on his website, George Washington University professor Jonathan Turley informs Idaho officials he will sue on behalf of the maker of Five Wives Vodka if the state doesn’t reverse its decision not to allow the vodka’s sale. He calls the ban unconstitutional and gives the state 10 days to reverse it. By Jessica Gresko.

XGR-CAMPAIGN FINANCE
DOVER, Del. — The state Senate considers two bills to expand Delaware’s campaign finance laws. One bill requires third-party groups to disclose the source of funding for independent campaign ads that refer to clearly identified candidates, even if the ads don’t urge a vote for or against any candidate. The second bill increases the penalty for filing late or incomplete campaign finance reports from $50 a month to $50 a day. It also establishes a penalty of $500 or 25 percent of the cost of the ad, whichever is greater, for anyone who fails to include the “paid for by” disclaimer on a campaign advertisement.
