DA’s youth group to offer Internet safety program

CHICOPEE, Mass. (AP) — Hampden District Attorney Mark Mastroianni’s Youth Advisory Board will present an Internet safety program at Fairview Middle School.

The group will give 6th grade students information on cyber bullying, online predators and social media. The program will be held Thursday.

The board is made up of high school students from throughout Hampden County who meet regularly to discuss topics relevant to youth. The group also develops programs for middle school students.

Mastroianni created the board two years ago to discuss issues of concern in the youth community. The board also promotes positive achievements of students and encourages them to become involved in the community.
