US service member dies in Afghanistan chopper crash

A U.S. service member was killed late Friday in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan that left six other crew members injured, NATO said in a statement.

The crash occurred in Afghanistan’s eastern Logar province and “was not the result of enemy action,” according to the statement. A spokesperson for the Taliban had previously claimed responsibility for the crash.
