Regeneron to expand upstate NY manufacturing site

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc. plans a $70 million expansion that will add 300 biotech jobs to its upstate New York operation.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the Tarrytown-based company is the largest company in the state’s growing biopharmaceutical industry.

Regeneron will build a 65,000-square-foot plant to add capacity for manufacturing products for clinical trials and potential sales and expand an existing facility, both at its East Greenbush site in Rensselaer County.

The company employs about 540 people at the site now.

Cuomo made the announcement Tuesday.
