Tanker driver in fiery crash was carryingethanol

Investigators have preliminarily identified the truck driver who perished in a fiery crash Sunday evening near Hanover Street in Baltimore, but said they are waiting on DNA evidence to confirm it.

The driver was hauling 8,000 gallons of ethanol when his tanker overturned on the on-ramp from Hanover Street to southbound Interstate 95, Maryland Transportation Authority police spokesman Jonathan Green said Monday. Green confirmed the driver worked for Dana Transport Services.

Officials expect the ramp to reopen in time for Wednesday?s morning commute.

Green said engineers determined the ramp is structurally safe but needs to be resurfaced. Hanover Street was scheduled to reopen Monday afternoon.
