Trump hires, promotes 22 White House aides

President Trump announced late Thursday the hiring of 22 special assistants and assistants to the president’s office, though the majority were promotions of White House aides.

The nearly two dozen appointments will serve in the executive office of the president and do not require Senate confirmation.

Trump named directors of a handful of White House offices, including Rebecca L. Wasserstein of the travel office, Alexandra E. Stone of the management office, Judson P. Deere of media affairs, Rear Adm. Keith B. Davids of the military office, and Emily R. Mallon of the chief of staff’s office.

Ashley D. Mocarski was tapped as senior director of Cabinet affairs.

  • William J. McGinley , assistant to the president and Cabinet secretary. McGinley previously served as deputy assistant to the president and Cabinet secretary.
  • Brooke L. Rollins, assistant to the president for Strategic Initiatives.
  • Andrew J. Olmem, deputy assistant to the president for Economic Policy and deputy director of the National Economic Council. Olmem previously served as special assistant to the president for Economic Policy.
  • Cletus R. Willems III, deputy assistant to the president for International Economic Affairs and deputy director of the National Economic Council. Willems previously served as special assistant to the president for National Security Council.
  • Avrahm J. Berkowitz, deputy assistant to the president and adviser to the senior adviser. Berkowitz previously served as special assistant to the president and assistant to the senior adviser.
