Cybersecurity center coming to Gaithersburg

A center dedicated to enhancing cybersecurity will be coming to the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg. The mission of the National Cybersecurity Center for Excellence in Gaithersburg, Md., is to “protect America’s ideas and innovations from cyber terrorists, spies and thieves,” said Sen. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., who was among the officials on hand to outlinine the public-private collaboration. Both private developers of cybersecurity products and services will work with NIST researchers at the facility in an effort to centralize government knowledge and private sector know-how.
