CPAC crowd gives Ted Cruz standing ovation after he tells them Trump ‘ain’t going anywhere’

Sen. Ted Cruz received a standing ovation from many in the crowd during his speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference after promising that former President Donald Trump “ain’t going anywhere.”

“They want him to go away. Let me tell you this right now: Donald J. Trump ain’t going anywhere,” the Texas Republican said.

Cruz covered a variety of topics, including his controversial trip to Cancun, Mexico, during a deadly snowstorm in Texas earlier this month.

“I gotta say, Orlando is awesome. It’s not as nice as Cancun, but it’s nice,” Cruz said.

Cruz also touched on government-imposed coronavirus regulations in his almost 20-minute speech and mocked those who advocate for wearing more than one mask to stem the spread of the virus.

“Now they’re saying everybody can get immunized, we can have herd immunity everywhere, and we’re going to wear masks for the next 300 years,” Cruz explained. “And by the way, not just one mask, two, three, four. You can’t have too many masks. How much virtue do you want to signal? This is just dumb.”
