A former Obama task force member is taking over as dean of the Georgetown Public Policy Institute as of Aug. 15. Edward Montgomery served on the Presidential Task Force on the Auto Industry before joining the Institute, which has Georgetown University 450 students enrolled in graduate programs as well as more than a dozen policy research centers and projects. Montgomery formerly served as a professor and dean at the University of Maryland’s College of Behavioral and Social Sciences. He was also deputy secretary of the Department of Labor during the Clinton administration. Montgomery will replace William Gormley, who has served as Institute’s interim dean since fall 2008.
