SHREWSBURY, Mass. (AP) — A Shrewsbury man has been indicted on sex tourism charges for allegedly traveling to the Dominican Republic to have sex with underage girls.
A federal grand jury on Thursday indicted 61-year-old Conrad Gallant on charges including sexual exploitation of children and engaging in illicit sexual conduct.
Gallant was arrested on the Caribbean island on March 4 after an investigation led by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He is a former member of the Winchendon Board of Health.
Federal authorities say Gallant traveled to the Dominican Republic several times between February 2011 and February 2012 and had sex with a 14-year-old girl, took photos of her, paid her money and asked her to bring other young girls with whom he could have sex. He could not be reached.
