The Pentagon identified a soldier who died Tuesday in Kuwait due to injuries sustained “from a non-combat related incident.”
“Sgt. 1st Class Hughton Brown, 43 years of age, of Brooklyn, New York died Nov. 14 in Camp Buehring, Kuwait,” a statement from the Defense Department on Wednesday said.
Brown was assigned to the 306th Engineer Company, 411th Engineer Brigade, Farmingdale, New York, and was supporting the U.S. counterterrorism mission in Afghanistan, known as Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.
Kuwait is located west of Afghanistan, and the two countries are separated by Iran and a narrow sliver of Iraq.
Further details on the circumstances of his death were not given and the Defense Department said the incident is under investigation.
A U.S. airman, Tech. Sgt. David Board, died in Kuwait also due to a “non-combat related incident” in early August.
