President Trump said Tuesday he is focused on bringing the Olympic games to Los Angeles, and hinted that there may be progress in the near future on that goal.
“Working hard to get the Olympics for the United States (L.A.). Stay tuned!” Trump tweeted on Tuesday morning.
Olympics officials are scheduled to meet in Switzerland on Tuesday to hear from leaders of Paris and Los Angeles about each other’s plans to host the 2024 summer games. Officials from each city will lay out plans for how they plan to stage the 300-medal event ceremonies if chosen for the games.
The Olympic committee may issue a double award in September, which would name the host cities for 2024 and 2028.

Earlier Tuesday, Trump accused liberals in the Senate of obstructing efforts to confirm his political appointees because it’s all they can do as the minority party.
“The Senate Democrats have only confirmed 48 of 197 Presidential Nominees. They can’t win so all they do is slow things down & obstruct!” Trump wrote on Twitter Tuesday.
Congress is scheduled to leave Washington for the month of August, which would further delay Trump’s administration appointments if the GOP-controlled Senate cannot approve his picks this month.
