Trump floats killing daily press briefings, doing press conferences himself every two weeks

President Trump is suggesting killing the daily televised press briefings with a White House spokesman and instead holding a press conference himself every two weeks.

In an interview set to air Saturday on Fox News, Trump is asked by host Jeanine Pirro of Justice with Judge Jeanine about how he can improve the White House’s communications strategy.

“We don’t have press conferences,” Trump replied.

Pressed, Trump said: “Unless I have them every two weeks and I do them myself, we don’t have them. I think it’s a good idea.”

Speaking of the press, Trump said: “First of all, you have a level of hostility that’s incredible and it’s very unfair.”

Referring to his recent spokespeople, Trump said: “Sarah Huckabee is a lovely, young woman. You know Sean Spicer, he is a wonderful human being, he’s a nice man.”

Asked about Spicer’s future, Trump said: “Well he’s doing a good job but he gets beat up.”

Earlier Friday, Trump tweeted: “Maybe the best thing to do would be to cancel all future “press briefings” and hand out written responses for the sake of accuracy???”
