A man is charged with attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed a Maryland gas station clerk.
Joseph Schrump, 22, was trying to rob the Mobil gas station on the 7200 block of Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie and the clerk resisted, according to Anne Arundel County police.
Police allege that Schrump then stabbed the clerk several times with a knife before fleeing into a nearby cemetery on foot.
Schrump was taken into custody in the cemetery, police said. He is charged with attempted second-degree murder, robbery, assault and reckless endangerment.
The robbery occurred at about 3:45 a.m. Sunday.
The clerk was treated at a hospital and has been released.
