Attendees of the Conservative Political Action Conference were conflicted when asked by the Washington Examiner whether they’d be willing to join in the fight against Russia as it invades Ukraine.
Those attending the conference offered differing answers, with some arguing the United States should be prepared to defend itself if the battle expands to North American shores as others expressed reluctance.
“I think I would fight them if they came on our soil,” one man said. “We’ve got a fight of our own going on right now that nobody is addressing with our border.”

Another man said there was “no way in hell” he’d support a war effort, adding, “I think we’ve got no interest being there at all.”
Others noted the military’s vaccine mandate as a barrier to their ability to serve.
“I’m actually an ex-Marine. I can’t because they kicked me out because I wouldn’t take the vaccine,” he responded. “So, technically, no — I’m the last person that would be able to go.”
