Testimony addresses possibility of burglary in Wone case

Did an intruder break in to 1509 Swann St. NW and kill Robert Wone on Aug. 2, 2006?

That’s the claim by lawyers for Joseph Price, Dylan Ward and Victor Zaborsky, the three housemates accused of covering up Wone’s death and misdirecting police. Much of the trial for the three, which is taking place in D.C. Superior Court, has centered on that question.

Sarah Morgan, who lived in the townhouse’s basement apartment, shed some light on the issue in court Wednesday morning.

She said the wooden floors in the house made it easy to hear people walking on the floors and up and down stairs. The defendants say they didn’t hear anyone in the house the night Wone died.

But under cross examination, Morgan also said she considered the neighborhood dangerous, citing a burglary on the street earlier that summer.
