CNN’s Brain Stelter defends journalist attacked by antifa

CNN host Brian Stelter defended the journalist who was attacked by members of antifa during the protests in Portland, Oregon.

While reporting on the protesters, Andy Ngo was kicked after had items thrown at him. He later tweeted about having to go the hospital. According to his lawyer, he suffered a brain bleed from the attack and had to stay in the hospital overnight.

During Reliable Sources on Sunday, Stelter condemned the attack, saying, “He has been covering protests in Portland for quite some time. His critics say he’s there to cause trouble, but that’s unacceptable.”

“The idea that he would be attacked, that he would be bloodied in that way [is] unacceptable, period,” he continued. “And it is important that everyone make that clear, even left-wing critics who don’t like him. There’s much we don’t know yet about all the circumstances, but disturbing to see that in Portland.”

While Stelter defended Ngo, many activists and people who work in the media either mocked Ngo, tried to explain away the incident, and even blamed the attack on him.
