Bath Fitter to pay up to $750K in Maine

Published

AUGUSTA, Maine (Legal Newsline) – A Maine bath company will up to $750,000 in fines for allegedly violating the state’s Unfair Trade Practices Act, state Attorney General Janet Mills said.

Mills made the announcement of the settlement on Thursday about National Bath Systems, which does business as Bath Fitter. The company, based in Portland, allegedly used construction contracts that were non-conforming, performed unlicensed plumbing activities, misrepresented employees’ license status, installed plumbing prior to being issued plumbing permits, and installed plumbing that may have violated the Maine’s State Internal Plumbing Code.
