Addison Rae Easterling is TikTok’s top earner, bringing in an estimated $5 million between June 2019 and June 2020.
Forbes published estimates for the top seven earners on the app on Thursday.
Easterling began posting to the app in 2019 and quickly rose to fame. She has about 54.1 million followers.
“TikTok is what got me to where I am,” she says.
Following close behind Easterling is Charlie D’Amelio, the app’s most-followed user, with nearly 76 million followers. She earned $4 million in 2019.
This comes as news that TikTok may soon be banned in the United States. President Trump announced his intention to take executive action against the app unless its U.S. operations are sold to an American company.
The two social media stars’ earnings only represent a fraction of what others are bringing in on different social media platforms, namely Instagram and YouTube.
Between June 2018 and June 2019, the highest-paid YouTuber was Ryan Kaji, an 8-year-old who got his start on the app by posting videos of himself unboxing toys. According to estimates from Forbes, he earned $26 million during that time period. And on Instagram, the earnings are even more unbelievable. Reports indicate that Kylie Jenner earns about $1 million dollars every time she publishes a branded post.
