‘All black lives matter’: Mark Levin calls on LeBron James and others to condemn killing of African Americans during rioting

Conservative commentator Mark Levin questioned why prominent celebrities, journalists, and Democratic politicians had not forcefully condemned the killings of at least two black men during rioting in major cities across the country.

“Several law-abiding African Americans have been murdered by rioters, including David Dorn and David Patrick Underwood. I looked at LeBron James’s twitter site. He says nothing about them,” Levin tweeted Wednesday. “In fact, the death of these and other African Americans, as well as those beaten by rioters, and black owned shops looted and burned, are all but ignored by the Black Lives Matter movement and their celebrity advocates.”

David Dorn, a 77-year-old black man and a retired police captain, was shot and killed by looters in St. Louis this week. David Patrick Underwood, a 53-year-old African American Federal Protective Services officer in Las Vegas, also died this week after he was shot in the back of the head during unrest there.

The two instances of violence come amid otherwise largely peaceful demonstrations protesting the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who died in police custody despite never resisting arrest.

Floyd died after Derek Chauvin, a white officer, knelt on his neck for more than eight minutes. Multiple videos taken at the scene show Floyd begging Chauvin to get off and telling him, “I can’t breathe.”

The incident has sparked massive protests across the country and calls for major criminal justice reform from prominent athletes, celebrities, and politicians.

Levin, who has condemned Floyd’s killing, said the Black Lives Matter movement and those seeking to promote it do a disservice by ignoring lives lost during the resulting protests.

“The same with top national Democrats, such as Biden, Pelosi, and Schumer. And the same with many media figures and commentators,” Levin said. “Why is that? Not only do all lives matter, but all black lives matter.”
