Rapper Nipsey Hussle was killed in a shooting outside of his clothing store in Los Angeles Sunday.
Hussle, 33, whose real name was Ermias Davidson Ashgedom, had been associated with the street gang Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips, according to NBC News.
Two other men are in serious condition after the shooting, and a suspect remains at large. Soon after hearing about the shooting celebrities began to post on social media about Hussle.
Rapper 50 Cent, who has been shot himself, tweeted “Thoughts and prayers for @NipseyHussle” after hearing the news. He later retweeted a link to a story about how Hussle died.

Fellow rappers like Tupac Shakur, The Notorious B.I.G., Yaki Kadafi, and Jam Master Jay were also shot and killed in similarly tragic ways.
Following the announcement of Hussle’s death, singer and songwriter Rihanna tweeted: “This doesn’t make any sense! My spirit is shaken by this! Dear God may His spirit Rest In Peace and May You grant divine comfort to all his loved ones! I’m so sorry this happened to you @nipseyhussle.”

Hussle was best known for his mixtapes and singles like “Feelin’ Myself.” His first studio album, Victory Lap, was released last year and was nominated for the Grammy for Best Rap Album.
